Although our island is small, the roads are too congested in many places and what may appear to be an hour drive on your in-depth map of the British Isles may double or increase further as the night draws in. Although the Romans liked the roads nice and straight the rest of our ancestors seemed less concerned as you will notice when driving round thicket and through homestead!

Many travellers to the UK "wing it". Jump in the car and hope to end up at a great hotel or B and B for the night. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. We have used and inspected in excess of 350 hotels and B and Bs through Britain - not just phoned them up or seen their literature. We mean "used and inspected" and confidently believe that our experience is there to be drawn on. We know that the best in all price brackets get booked up weeks in advance. The places we are likely to use get booked up months in advance. We can book you into some of the best B and Bs, hotels and castles in the land and your experiences will be unique.

We will critically list attractions between accommodations but not give you a road by road itinerary. You will know where the outstanding pub or restaurant of the day is to be found before your day begins. You'll also have all the flexibility to travel off the beaten track knowing that as dusk approaches there will be a great bed for you to "dream England" in.
