A
message from your hosts, Paul and Erica.
 |
We
moved to Wales to look for a slower pace of life amidst
glorious countryside with stunning scenery and wildlife
in abundance. We have not been disappointed.
Nor will you be if you choose to stay with us.
The sight of the mountains, particularly as they change
colour with the setting sun, was an instant attraction
to us and viewed from the conservatory it's as good
as it gets in this part of the world.
Since
finishing the conversion of The Stables, we have concentrated
on landscaping the gardens, integrating different
themes and interests. |
We
take great pleasure in seeing our visitors stroll
through the gardens and relax on one of the many seats
dotted around or stop to chat whilst we tend the vegetable
garden.
We
love the wildlife that is very much part of our home.
We loose count of the different number of garden birds
that visit the feeders and bring up their young.
Swallows come back to the same spot every year and
a tawny owl has taken up permanent residence in the
beech tree next to our house. Red kites and
buzzards regularly soar in the skies above us.
Visitors make an analogy with Watership Down as they
are entertained by scores of rabbits playing in the
fields surrounding the gardens. |
 |

|
To
compliment the wildlife, we wanted to introduce domestic
animals to share our lives and to be very much part
of the bigger family. We have two dogs, ducks,
chickens, guinea fowl, two hand reared sheep and 3
goats who love to eat bananas. They all have
names and are full of character. |
We
have also faced the challenge of trying to grow all
our own vegetables. Rabbit fencing has proved
to be essential and whilst we may not ever fully meet
the challenge, a 45 feet polytunnel helps. We
often have an abundance of certain crops, particularly
from late June/July and are pleased to share them
with our visitors.

Whether
your idea of a good holiday is getting out walking,
cycling or visiting the many nearby attractions or
just chilling out with a glass of wine or a good book
in the conservatory or on the deck, we feel sure that
you'll love it here as much as we do. Many of
our visitors have said that our photographs do not
do justice to the accommodation or the views so why
not come and judge for yourselves.
We'd
love to meet you and you will be assured of a warm
welcome. |
These
are some of the things our visitors have said :
-
Our second visit has been just
as wonderful as our first. Great hosts and super
accommodation. We cannot think of anywhere we
would rather be trapped by snow - spectacular!
The local wildlife has again been fascinating,
the domestic animals great fun and Megan and Harry
are such lovely dogs.
-
What
a fantanstic week! We couldn't have asked for
a more beautiful location for our honeymoon. Thank
you for being wondeful hosts. You have an amazing
home and beautiful garden (including the gorgeous
animals!) Thank you for your hospitality and for
the fresh veg and eggs.
-
First
class hosts, stunning views, 4 star accommodation,
what a gem in the Welsh countryside, so lucky
to have found you on the Internet. Thank you
Erica and Paul and all the animals, especially
Harry and Megan, for the feeling of being with
friends. See you all again next year.
-
We said we would be back - here we are, it gets
better and still we have not seen all. The location
is really delightful. Hosts fantastic - and animals.
Thanks for the veg. Enjoyed our stay once again
in the peace and quiet. Look forward to seeing
you again. Fondest memories.
-
Thank you for a fantastic week, you were both
so friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
Fab accommodation and wonderful surroundings.
Thanks again for a really relaxing week - exactly
what we both needed. If Megan is missing I think
Steve has her in his bag!
-
Our
third visit and we have had a wonderful two weeks
- even wind, rain and fog are so special here.
Once again Erica and Paul, a huge 'thank you'
for being such great hosts - in fact to us you
feel much more than that - like really good friends.
Can't wait to come again.
