About
Us
We moved to Wales to look for a slower pace of
life amidst glorious countryside with stunning scenery and wildlife
in abundance. We have not been disappointed. Nor will you be if
you choose to stay with us. The sight of the mountains, particularly
as they change colour with the setting sun, was an instant attraction
to us and viewed from the conservatory it's as good as it gets in
this part of the world.
We have landscaped the gardens integrating different
themes and interests and we take great pleasure seeing our visitors
stroll through them or relax on one of the many seats dotted around
or perhaps stopping to chat whilst we tend the vegetable garden.
We love the wildlife that is very much part of
our home. We lose count of the different number of garden birds
that visit the feeders and bring up their young. Swallows come back
to the same spot every year and red kites and buzzards regularly
soar in the skies above us. Visitors make an analogy with Watership
Down as they are entertained by scores of rabbits playing in the
fields surrounding the gardens.
To complement the wildlife, we have farm animals to share our lives
and to be part of the bigger family. We have dogs, sheep, chickens,
guinea fowl, ducks, turkeys and goats who love to eat bananas. They
all have names and are full of character.
We grow most of our own vegetables and often have
an abundance of crops in the summer which we are pleased to share
with our visitors.
Whether your idea of a good holiday is getting
out walking, cycling or visiting the many nearby attractions or
just chilling out with a glass of wine or a good book in the conservatory
or on the deck, we feel sure that you'll love it here as much as
we do. Many of our visitors have said that our photographs do not
do justice to the accommodation or the views so why not come and
judge for yourselves.
We'd love to meet you and you will be assured of
a warm welcome.
These are some of the things our visitors have
said :
- Thank you Erica and Paul for a short but wonderful time at
your home. The Stables were perfect. The garden and animals
were lovely. You were so welcoming, we couldn't have asked for
anything more. Hopefully we will be back soon.
- Our second visit with many more to come, we hope. Beautiful
weather and a very warm welcome. Thank you once again for such
an ideally comfortable flat.
- What a great week to revive! The Stables is very relaxing
and we won't hesitate to recommend it. We really appreciate
all your hard work getting the property to this level with so
many welcoming touches. Thank you very much.
- Our first visit, found by chance; what a little gem this place
is, we both loved it. We are definitely going to come back.
Lots of places still to see and this is so central and even
the rain doesn't spoil the view.Erica and Paul are so warm and
friendly. Our stay is definitely full of fond memories.
- To hell with booking a week! How much for a permanent residency?
What wonderful hosts Erica and Paul are. The accommodation is
excellent with lots of little extras thoughtfully and carefully
provided which together with the warm friendly welcome made
us feel instantly at home. Fulfils all promises on the internet,
views are truly memorable, gardens and animals delightful. We
have to come back - it's a definite must for relaxation, walking
and sightseeing.
