Veneers
A veneer is a thin layer of porcelain or composite material that fits over the front surface
of the tooth.
Veneers can improve the appearance of your teeth by rectifying irregularities in colour, shape
and position.
A precise shade of porcelain can be chosen to give the right colour to stained or discoloured
teeth.
A veneer can be applied to a chipped tooth to make it look intact and also to close small gaps
where braces are not suitable.
If a tooth is slightly out of position a veneer can sometimes be applied to bring it into line
with the rest of the teeth.
A veneer takes at least two visits, the first to prepare the tooth and match the shade of the
veneer to your other teeth and the second visit to fit it.
It may be necessary to come back a week or so after the veneer is fitted so that it can be
polished and checked.
