Biking in Brechfa Forest

Brechfa Forest is a hidden gem deep in the Welsh countryside. With dramatic views and ravines cutting into the landscape, this is ideal mountain bike territory.

The forest has two specially designed biking trails with a third one under construction and due to open in the summer of 2008.

The Gorlech Trail is an all-weather trail which runs for 22kms broadly following the path of the Gorlech river and crossing it twice. Picturesque, dramatic and exciting.

The Derwen Trail runs for 9kms and offers a chance for less experienced bikers to try their hand at mountain biking. Following the valley sides, the trail has steady climbs and drops and some lovely scenery. The Derwen Trail starts at Byrgwm Car Park.
