Spring Conference

Wales and the World - The Contribution and Potential of World Heritage Sites in Wales

Friday 20 April – Sunday 22 April 2012

A great deal of money and effort has been invested in gaining World Heritage status for sites in Wales. This conference, arranged by Dr Sian Rees, will look at the three sites which have already been designated and will try to gauge the impact that this status has had and to identify the advantages, both social and economic, which may be expected to arise from it and the responsibilities which may accrue. The programme includes 12 lectures from major authorities and also a canal boat trip (with lunch) over the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, Wales’ latest WHS. This trip is optional, but well worth the £13.50 extra!
Please book accommodation yourself with Bryn Howel Hotel, Trevor, Llangollen, Denbighshire, LL20 7UW. Tel: 01978 860331. Email: hotel@brynhowel.com quoting the Cambrian Archaeological Association Spring Conference. For the whole conference the costs are £289.90 for 2 persons sharing and £179.85 for a single room. For non-residents please note that there is a fee to the hotel, but include that with your registration fee to CAA.
